According to Nassau County Police detectives, officers responded to the home in South Farmingdale on 1st Avenue on a report of a female not breathing on Wednesday afternoon, Jan. 15.
Upon arrival, officers located the body and it was determined that the death had occurred at the scene. The Medical Examiner's Office has determined the cause of death to be asphyxiation, police said. The victim has been identified as Kelly Owen of South Farmingdale.
The Homicide Squad is handling the investigation.
